The role: The Financial Controller, Brazil, will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the country’s financial statements.The role will ensure compliance with all statutory and donor obligations. The role will ensure strong internal controls and ensure safeguard of all assets and support the country program team to achieve smooth country operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, not-for-profit donor reporting, compliance and familiarity with the financial monthly closing processes. They will also have a desire to work in an environment that promotes open, multicultural communication, and coordination. Primary activities include, but are not limited to the below: • Enter real-time transactions in the accounting system with all supporting documents; • Ensure timely and accurate audit-ready close of the country books; • Ensure compliance with country statutory and TNS policies and procedures; • Prepare cash flow projections report for home office for timely transfers; • Support in review of the annual fringe-benefit analysis; • Support the annual country budget and monthly projections process; • Analyze financial data and effectively communicate critical financial matters to the Regional and Corporate Controller; • Maintain up to date listing of all assets; • Be the primary point of contact for all in-country statutory, donor and organizational audits; • Work closely with the regional and the home office team in rolling out and testing in-country processes and systems; • Assist in the preparation of the organizational audits; • Ensure sound financial planning and management of TechnoServe projects; • Ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations in the Brazil country office; • Cultivates and maintains strong working partnerships and effective communications with all key stakeholders; • Performs other duties and projects as assigned. You will have • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial and grants management in an international work setting • Knowledge of fund-based accounting and experience with complex internal non-profit organizations • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English • Strong interpersonal cross-cultural skills • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Preferred requirements • Certification such as CMA, CPA or other related certifications • Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Serenic Navigator) and/or Jet Reports experience • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish For applications, please send an emai with your CV to [email protected]
